Autonoms Privacy Policy

Autonoms value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you access our website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Platform”).

Autonoms is a marketplace where users (“Buyers” and “Sellers”) connect to buy, sell, and deploy automation solutions (“AI Agents”) with escrow protection and verified quality standards. We also offer the Autonoms AI Expert Network, which allows buyers to hire certified automation experts for ongoing automation support.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users, visitors, and account holders across all products and services operated by Autonoms Inc.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide Directly

When you register, transact, or communicate on the Platform, we collect:

  • Account information (name, email address, password, phone number, country).
  • Business profile information (company name, job title, industry, team size).
  • Payment and payout details (bank or wallet information processed securely by Stripe).
  • Marketplace submissions (automation documentation, demos, and metadata).
  • Communications (messages, feedback, reviews, and support requests).
  • Identity verification data (if required for payment compliance).

b. Information We Collect Automatically

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Platform, including:

  • Device and browser data (IP address, device type, operating system, user agent).
  • Usage analytics (page views, navigation patterns, interaction timestamps).
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).

c. Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited data from integrated tools and partners, including:

  • Stripe (for payment processing and fraud prevention).
  • Google Analytics (for website usage insights).
  • Authentication providers (OAuth integrations for secure deployment).

3. How We Use Your Information

Autonoms uses collected data to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform and its features.
  • Process payments and escrow transactions securely.
  • Facilitate Buyer-Seller communications and deployments.
  • Verify compliance with the Definition of Done (DoD) and review standards.
  • Provide customer support, troubleshooting, and conflict resolution.
  • Customize your experience with recommendations and content relevance.
  • Improve Platform performance, analytics, and usability.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations, financial regulations, and tax requirements.

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (U.S. and Optional EU)

For Users in the U.S., we process data under legitimate business purposes necessary to deliver services.

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity – to deliver services you request.
  • Legitimate interest – to improve and secure our Platform.
  • Consent – where explicitly provided (e.g., marketing emails).
  • Legal obligation – to comply with law enforcement or regulatory requirements.

5. Payment and Escrow Information

Autonoms’ internal wallet is backed by Stripe, our trusted payment partner.

  • Buyer funds are held in escrow until automation delivery meets the DoD.
  • Stripe processes all financial transactions and securely stores related payment information.
  • Autonoms do not directly access or store sensitive card data.
  • Both Buyers and Sellers can view escrow status (Pending, Funded, In Progress, Awaiting Approval, Released).

Stripe’s privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

6. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We share information only where necessary to operate our Platform or comply with law.

We may share information with:

  • Service providers (payment processors, hosting providers, cloud storage, analytics vendors).
  • Other Users (to the extent necessary for Buyer-Seller interactions).
  • Legal authorities (if required by law, subpoena, or valid government request).
  • Corporate affiliates or successors (in case of merger, acquisition, or restructuring).

We never sell personal data for advertising or commercial resale.

7. Data Retention

Autonoms retains personal data as long as your account is active or for up to three (3) years after closure, whichever is longer.
We may retain limited records beyond this period for:

  • Legal, regulatory, or tax compliance.
  • Fraud prevention or dispute resolution.
  • Backup or audit purposes, within secure archives.

When retention is no longer necessary, data is deleted or anonymized.

8. Cookies and Analytics

a. Types of Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for login, security, and session management.
  • Analytics Cookies: Managed through Google Analytics to understand site usage and improve performance.
  • Preference Cookies: Store user language, marketplace preferences, or display settings.

b. Managing Cookies

You can manage cookie settings via your browser. Disabling certain cookies may limit Platform functionality.

c. Analytics and Tracking

We use Google Analytics to measure engagement trends. Data is aggregated and anonymized.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

9. Security and Data Protection

We implement industry-standard measures to safeguard user information:

  • Encryption: All sensitive data transmitted via HTTPS and encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Access Control: Role-based system limiting data visibility to authorized personnel only.
  • OAuth Integration: All automations connect via OAuth; Sellers never access Buyer credentials directly.
  • Regular Audits: Periodic reviews of code, access logs, and infrastructure.
  • Incident Response: Rapid protocols for potential data breaches, including user notifications when required by law.

Despite our best efforts, no system is 100% secure. Users share and deploy data at their own discretion.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate data.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
  • Request data portability (where applicable).

11. Data Transfers

Autonoms operates globally but stores primary data in the United States.
For Users in the EEA or UK, we implement Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other lawful mechanisms to ensure adequate protection for cross-border transfers.

12. Communication and Marketing

We may send you service updates, transaction notifications, and platform announcements.
Marketing emails are sent only with consent and include an unsubscribe option in each message.

We do not send unsolicited third-party marketing communications.

13. The Autonoms AI Expert Network

If you participate in the Autonoms AI Expert Network, we collect and process:

  • Professional credentials, portfolio materials, and availability.
  • Buyer engagement and payment records.
  • Communication and collaboration data (messages, milestones, feedback).

All interactions within the AI Expert Network are governed by the same escrow, privacy, and data security policies described here.

14. Children’s Privacy

Autonoms are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that a child has submitted personal data, we will delete it immediately.

15. Third-Party Links and Integrations

Our Platform may include links or integrations with third-party tools (e.g., Zapier, Make.com, n8n).
We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites. Users should review their policies before enabling integrations.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in law, technology, or our operations.
Significant updates will be communicated via email or in-platform notifications.
The “Effective Date” at the top indicates the latest revision.
